My husband Tom and I got to the new Georgia Grace Café the other day and were quite impressed. It’s at 8006 Main St., right across from the Railroad Museum. The interior is very classy. Lots of white—walls, marble table tops, cloth napkins—and a gorgeous granite wall running the length of the dining room. The view can’t be beat: Main Street, the museum and when a train goes by, it is right above your head. The food is very cool also, with an emphasis on Greek items. I enjoyed the spanakopita, while Tom had the chicken souvlaki. The service is casual but efficient and the prices are very good. They are open Tuesday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. With the weather being so nice up until recently, we were also able to have lunch outdoors at LaPalapa at the upper end of Main Street in November. Although I have eaten indoors there many times, this was my first outdoor experience. Again, what a view. This time, you see the bustle of Main Street topped with the majesty of the Court House up the hill. Awesome. And, I see that Portalli’s is set to reopen in early December. Looking forward to it.
