Winter festivals continue into January [Marriottsville/Sykesville/Woodstock]

The West Friendship Elementary School Band will be holding its Winter Concert on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, from 2:15 to 3:30 p.m. and from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. The concert will involve both the beginning and advanced bands as well as the strings students. Come out and listen as students play pieces by the band Queen as well as “Sleigh Ridge,” “Linus and Lucy” and a feature performance of an overzealous cowbell piece called “More Cowbell.” The band musicians for the month of January are: Christopher Choi, Lea Linga, Taryn Manwiller, Avneesh Joshi, Sydney Proper, Joshua Clement, Julian Patterson, Helen Baur, Emma Hoff, Zelia Oommen, Sara Karachiwalla, Allison So, Meredith Flynn, Ruhhe Biruk, Liliana Williamson, Suhaan Stewart, Lowan Tichenor and Ram Challagulla. Congratulations and keep up the great work!

Looking for a place to worship on Christmas Eve? Come out to St. Alphonsus Rodriguez Church in Woodstock and enjoy a welcoming service on Sunday, Dec. 24, at 7:30 and 10 a.m. If those times don’t work for you, Mass will also be held at 4 and 7 p.m. as well as Midnight Mass.
