Marriotts Ridge High School will host Jazz at the Ridge on Friday, April 10, at 7 p.m., in the MRHS Theater.

This year's concert will feature the Marriotts Ridge Big Band, Jazz Combo and a special combined performance with the Mount View Middle School Jazz Band. With all the local talent in the Baltimore/Washington area, MRHS invites different artists to perform at the jazz concert each year.

This years' concert will feature guest artist David Bach and the David Bach Consort. Bach is the recipient of two Gold Records and has won the Maryland State Art Council Performance Award. The David Bach Consort was the winner of the Jazz Discovery Showcase on BET. They have had the pleasure of performing with B.B. King at the Kennedy Center and were a finalist in the Jazz category for the 2014 Maryland Music Awards.

Looking for something to do with the kids over spring break? Bring them to Millard Cooper Park, off Sykesville Road, on Friday, April 3, from 10 a.m. until noon, for the annual Easter Egg hunt. Parking will be available at Sykesville Middle School, at 7301 Springfield Ave.

Chapelgate Presbyterian Church will hold its annual Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, April 4, at 10:30 a.m. This event is one of the largest in the community and everyone is invited. With over 5,000 colorful eggs, face painting and refreshments, kids of all ages will have an enjoyable time. There will also be an egg hunt just for toddlers.
