Are you a wine connoisseur? Then come out to Turf Valley Towne Square on Saturday, Feb. 28, from noon until 3 p.m. for a German Wine Festival. There will be several wines featured from the top five wine-growing regions in Germany.
Several winemakers themselves will be on hand to answer questions to expand your wine knowledge. Tickets are $25 in advance or $35 at the door and will include light hors d'oeuvres.
However, if you would like to taste unique and rare wines, VIP Tasting Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door. Come down to Sykesville Main Street for the 5k Sykesville Shiver Race on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 1 until 3 p.m. Registration for the race will begin at 11:30 a.m. for those who have not pre-registered. You can even predict your time the day of the race and possibly win an award for closest predicted time.
The cost of the race is $25 for ERR members and $30 for non-members. The race will begin and end at Baldwin's Station, where runners can enjoy post-race refreshments. On race day, be sure to show your race bib to select Main Street businesses for purchase discounts.
