Bring the kids to try out the binoculars and view the many birds at the Mt. Pleasant location. This event in mostly indoors, but if the weather is nice, they might travel outdoors to see the birds up close. This event is free. Thinking of traveling? Is your passport updated? If not, swing by the Howard County Library in Glenwood where passport services are now available Monday through Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
HCLS charges a $25 fee for each passport application, in addition to State Department fees. Passport photos are also available for $15. Normal processing takes between four to six weeks. Full application details, fees and a list of items needed are available at http://www.hclibrary.org.
The Retreat and Conference Center of Bon Secours, in Marriottsville, will host a Bible study on the prophet Isaiah beginning Friday, Jan. 9 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Isaiah is in three different sections of the Bible and each section will be studied and explored with group discussions on each Friday in January.
Andrea Springer, who currently serves as the assistant to the president of the Sisters of Bon Secours USA, will be guiding the discussion. This event is free and it is suggested, but not required, to attend each session.
