New Eagle Scouts have landed at Scout Troop 757 [Lisbon/Woodbine]

Boy Scout Troop #757 reports that five of its members have reached, through their hard work and perseverance, the rank of Eagle Scout. Those to be honored during a ceremony on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at 3 p.m., at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mt. Airy are: Alexander Barrett, Darrin Bosman, Nicholas Preece and Garrett Zawodniak. This Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony will be followed by a dinner for participants and attendees. It is open to all who are interested but it is requested that you RSVP by contacting Paula Bruns at paulabruns67@gmail.com or by phone at 410-489-5460 if you will be attending.

Barrett, a senior at Glenelg High School, completed a prayer labyrinth for Calvary Lutheran Church in Lisbon his Eagle Scout project.

Bossman, also senior at Glenelg, built a patio and fire pit for Good Hope Presbyterian church in Fulton.

Bruns, a senior at Glenelg, built a sand volleyball court for the Community College of Baltimore County to complete his Eagle Scout project.

Preece, a senior at Glenelg, built a batting cage at Glenelg High School for its softball teams and other community leagues.

Zawodniak, a junior at Marriotts Ridge High School, built picnic tables for the Community College of Baltimore County .

Boy Scout Troop 757 is out of Glenwood and is chartered by the Glenwood Lions Club.

We always need to congratulate our teens who have worked so hard completing important projects in our community and providing service in many other ways while progressing through the Scouting ranks . If you see any of these young men at school or in your community, you might want to send them a congratulatory message. So, from me, congratulations new Eagle Scouts!

Calvary Lutheran Church announces a series of opportunities to worship during the Christmas holidays. These include, on Sunday Eve, Dec. 24, at 3 p.m., a traditional worship service with harp music, followed at 5 p.m. by a traditional service geared towards families with children, offering brass music; at 7 p.m., a contemporary worship service led by the Praise Encounter Team and at 11 p.m. a traditional worship service with choir music.
