Reservoir High's softball team soars in regionals [Highland/Fulton]

The Reservoir High School girls’ softball team is kicking butt and taking names!
In the 3A East Regional semi-final game against Centennial High, they came away whipping CHS by 10 runs in a 12 – 2 win.
Highlights from the game were: Holly Daum went 3 for 3 at the plate batting in three runs; Hunter Little also went 3 -for-3 at the plate with two doubles and five RBIs. Maddy Jones hit a double and brought in a run. Breann Smith, Macayla Allen, Abby Wang and Desi Hatzakos all had RBIs. And, Katy Wnuk-Fink went 2 -for-4 at the plate with a double.
Pitcher Emma Bailey dominated from the mound, getting three strikeouts and giving up only four hits. Bre Smith, Hunter Little, Maddy Jones and Kylee Gunkel all made key defensive plays to keep the Eagles out of scoring position, including turning two double plays.
The regional final was just as exciting with the Gator Ladies coming away with a 7 – 4 win. This time, Holly Daum went 2-for-3 at the plate with one double and one RBI. Hunter Little hit a double, scoring in two RBI.
Desi Hatzakos went 2-for-3 at the plate, hit one double and brought in a run. Abby Wang and Macayla Allen both had RBIs. And, Katy Wnuk-Fink hit one double. Kylee Gunkel pitched a complete game. She had three strikeouts and gave up eight hits.
Bre Smith, Hunter Little, Maddy Jones, Emma Bailey and Desi Hatzakos locked down the infield, including catching one runner stealing and making the routine plays time and time again. Congratulations, Gators!
