Young authors and poets recognized in area contests

Then, there is Sienna Rader-Gowda. She took first place in the Young Author’s Contest for the seventh-grade level for her story titled “The Land of Sandawo.” Emma Cho received honorable mention for her poem in the eighth-grade level called “Invisible Emotions.” Their winning entries have been submitted to the state for the next level of judging. Congratulations to each of you for a job well done.

Caitlin Bossle, a seventh grader, was awarded first place in WBFF Fox 45’s Black History month Champions of Courage essay contest from more than 3,000 state-wide essays. Awesome! Keep up the great work!

Over at Fulton Elementary School, Celeste Martin, a fourth-grader in Elizabeth Dewees’ class, was the winner of the January Box Top Contest by collecting over 150 box tops! Woo hoo!

Congratulations to the following Lime Kiln Middle School students who demonstrated their ability to ROAR, responsible, organized, achieving and respectful, for the week ending Feb. 1 were: Mila Cho, Hamza Farooqui, Nate Mearns, Dustin Park, Cameron Olin and Isabella Pereira. For the week ending February 8, the students who ROAR are Syra Patel, Luc Le, Maddie Carter, Akiro Licitra, Desiny Olamide, Mark Berg and Cole Smart. For the week ending Feb. 14, the students were: Angel Ventura Carrillo, Maria Polizos, Elizabeth Walsh, Alex Crawford, Shaan Jairath, Valerie Yu and Carmen Jones. Congratulations!
