Free concert will feature world-class musicians [Glenwood/Glenelg/Dayton]

Doug Burian, the music director at Glenelg United Methodist Church, invites the community to attend a free concert on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 4 p.m., featuring world-renowned trumpet player Vince DiMartino.

DiMartino will be joined on stage by Howard County resident and accomplished pianist Bob Boguslaw. This recital is a reunion for DiMartino and Boguslaw, who worked together at the University of Kentucky. Boguslaw was the piano player in the University of Kentucky Jazz Band when DiMartino was teaching trumpet and directing the band.

Their program will feature a mix of classical music and jazz. A reception will follow the concert. Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to see two world class musicians performing in our neighborhood for free.

Amy Bejm Syversen, the director of bands at Dayton Oaks Elementary School, is excited to announce the Band Musicians of the Month for September. These students will be recognized on the band bulletin board at school for their great work and awesome attitudes.
