St. Andrews puts out Italian feast on Jan. 22 [Glenwood/Glenelg/Dayton]

It is time once again for another monthly feast at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Glenwood. After taking two months off because the regular feast day fell on a holiday, Lynne Quinn is excited to announce that an Italian Feast will be held on Thursday, Jan. 22, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Dinner will cost $9 per person, with a cap of $30 for a family. As always, children 5 and under are free. For more information, call the church at 410-489-4035. Dinner will be prepared by Smokin' Hot Bar and Grille in Glenwood, and you can eat at the church or take the food home with you.

The beneficiary of this month's feast will be the education fund for the children of Tom Palermo. Palermo was killed in a bicycle accident in Baltimore at the end of December. He is survived by his wife, Rachel, a 4-year-old old son named Sam, and a 6-year-old daughter named Sadie.

In an attempt to ease the burden on his family the proceeds raised from the feast will benefit the children's education fund. If you are interested in helping the family, money can also be sent to http://www.youcaring.com/tuition-fundraiser/children-of-tom-palermo/283939 or mailed to Palermo Children's Educational Trust, c/o Molloy Investment Group, Stifel Nicholaus, One South St., 30th Floor, Baltimore, MD 21202.

The Glenelg High School boys and girls track and field team competed at the Bishop Laughlin Games Invitational in New York City at the end of December. Several members of the team recorded times that were personal bests for them. Team members also recorded times that place them among the top finishers in the country.

The highlight was a third place performance by senior Calvin Pitney, who cleared 14 feet in the pole vault, a state best. Congratulations to all the members of the track and field team.
