Valentine's Day is opening night for the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company's "The Merry Wives of Windsor" at Howard County Center for the Arts Black Box Theatre.
Directed by Ian Gallanar, the comedy will run from Friday, Feb. 14, through Sunday, March 9, with evening and matinees performances. Senior and student discounts, as well as handicap seating, are available.

Celebrate St. Valentine's Day with a dinner at theShrine of St. Anthony's on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. The evening for couples begins with a Mass at 6 p.m., followed by a dinner served by the Friars.
The celebration will reflect on the power of love both human and divine and conclude with a closing prayer at 8:30 p.m. TIckets are $80 per couple and registration is required.

Here's a way to show your love for a veteran this Valentine's Day — participate in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7472 fundraiser to benefit their Veterans Relief Fund. In partnership with Bob Evans restaurant in Ellicott City, the public is invited to participate in the Saturday, Feb. 15, fundraiser by dining at the restaurant between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.
When customers present a flyer at the time of purchase, Bob Evans will donate 15 percent of their bill to the Veterans Relief Fund. The Barnes & Noble bookstore in the Long Gate Shopping Center will feature a special Valentine's Day Storytime on Thursday, Feb. 13. at 11 a.m. The children's event includes Valentine's stories such as "Love Monster" by Rachel Bright, the tale of a google-eyed monster trying to fit in with the cuddly residents of Cutesville.
