In the Christian tradition, it is customary to give up something to observe the season of Lent. As we enter this phase of the Christian calendar, the community has a lot to offer in the spirit of self-sacrifice. We begin this week's announcements with a pancake supper, which symbolizes the clearing of the cupboards traditionally done for the Lenten season.
Come and celebrate the Lenten season with Melville Chapel United Methodist Church on March 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. The church will host its annual Pancake Supper featuring Boarsman sausage and fruit to observe the events leading up to the Easter holiday in the Christian tradition. The supper is in the church hall at 5660 Furnace Ave. All are welcome and a free will offering will be collected. For more information, contact Dottie Smith at 410-796-4080.
