Big celebrations are coming on April 25.
Clarksville Elementary will celebrate its 50th birthday and Wellness Day all afternoon. The Fun Run/Walk takes off at 1 p.m. There will be a DJ and other wellness activities from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Activities are free, but there is something you can donate.
Bring new or usable shoes to put in the donation box at the Giving Back/Charity tent to benefit Funds2Orgs. CES has set a goal of 100 bags of shoes. Exceeding that goal will bring added happiness to many.
Wellness tents will be set up on the blacktop.
Visit Eat the Rainbow, featuring samples of healthy foods and juices. Registered dietitian Jessica Nezu will be organizing this tent. Have you become friends with green kale and red beets?
The Dental Health tent sponsored by Pediatric Dentistry of Columbia, Dr. Sangita Doshi, will feature healthy dental activities.
The Yoga tent, sponsored by Ali@yogaLove, will feature yoga for fit kids. Yoga is also good for adults and a great help for seniors to maintain balance.
At the Going Green tent, sponsored by Dipper Wettstein and the going green committee, you can have fun with reduce, re-use and recycle activities.
Before you leave, be sure to visit the Whole Foods tent.
Are you as fit as your Cougar Cub? There will be activities indoors for parents and maybe a few grandparents so you can test your fitness. The results may be surprising.
Congratulations to Clarksville 8th graders Matthew Bloom, Natasha Pansare, Amy Chen, Megan Radcliffe, Shaiza Monsoor, Annie Shi, Diana Oh, Caroline Tang and all other participants in the recent county STEM Fair competition.
