After eight years of service as Neighbor Ride's executive director, Clarksville's Brad Closs is retiring. Those years have seen tremendous organizational growth. The number of active volunteers tripled to well over 300. The number of trips provided for seniors quadrupled to an average of 1,400 rides a month. Brad's impact on the organization will be felt for many years to come.
Yet, in announcing his retirement Closs credits Neighbor Ride's success to the dedication of volunteers combined with a staff who love what they do.
"I couldn't have asked for a better group to be associated with," he says.
The community is invited to join Neighbor Ride in saying goodbye to Brad and welcoming new Executive Director Bruce Fulton. A Hello-Goodbye Celebration is set for Wednesday, May 13, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Slayton House in the Village of Wilde Lake. Contact Colleen Konstanzer at community@neighborride.org to R.S.V.P.
Clarksville Middle School will host a spring blood drive in the school cafeteria on Tuesday, April 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. Give the gift of life. There is always a need.

While some are spring cleaning at home, others are spring cleaning the community. The recent annual WSSC watershed cleanup was blessed with a good group of volunteers this year.
