Spring is a time for firsts — first robin, first crocus and, of course, first yard sale!
Howard County Relay for Life will hold a yard sale at Linden-Linthicum United Methodist Church on April 18, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., in the parking lot.
Space is available for $25. No tables will be provided. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

Meanwhile, Linden-Linthicum will host its annual "Bikes for the World" bicycle collection April 12, noon-3 p.m.
Bikes must be in working order, but tires can be flat. All functional bikes will be shipped to developing countries to provide vital transportation to work, school and water. Your cash donation will help defray the cost of shipping.
The annual WSSC community clean up of the Howard County side of Triadelphia reservoir is from 9 a.m. to noon on April 4, rain or shine, Wear appropriate clothing, boots and gloves. Meet at Big Branch parking lot on Triadelphia Mill Road or Pigtail parking lot at the end of Greenbridge Road extended. Children are welcome to accompany adults.

The eighth annual Whipps Daffodil Day takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 4 at Ellicott City's only public historic garden-park run entirely by volunteers. Master Gardeners will offer horticultural presentations in the park's Woodland Theatre at the St. John's Lane site and answer your gardening questions.
The sale includes Easter lilies, hydrangeas (pink, blue and white), potted tete-a-tete daffodils, hyacinths, tulips, hellebores and Virginia bluebells. There will be a raffle at 3 p.m. Proceeds benefit Whipps Cemetery. Admission is free.
