Time is running out to get discounted tickets for the Atholton Athletic Boosters Raider Luau to be held April 17 in the Ten Oaks Ballroom. The discount ends March 31, but you will still be able to purchase tickets for the full price of $60 after that date while space is available.
Proceeds from the bull roast fundraiser benefit AHS athletic teams. They offer a great evening with appetizers, dinner, drinks, casino, music and a silent auction.

The Easter season will be filled with activities at Linden-Linthicum United Methodist Church. These activities and worship services are open to friends in the community.
There will be Maundy Thursday services April 2 at noon and 7 p.m. The Good Friday service is at 7 p.m.
Everyone is invited to come for an Easter Festival on April 4 from 10 a.m. until noon. There will be Easter fun and festivities with an egg hunt, kid's crafts and other children's activities.
Easter Sunday services begin at 6 a.m. Other services will be conducted at 7:45, 9 and 10:30 a.m. All are welcome.
The next Lunch Date with History is set for April 3. Doors open at the Howard County Historical Society Museum at 11:30 a.m. Bring your own lunch. Drinks and treats are provided. The cost for non-members is $5. This month Fred Dorsey will lecture on "Belmont."

It's almost time for the annual community clean up of the WSSC watershed area. Volunteers will remove trash around the Howard County side of the Triadelphia Resevoir and surrounding roads on April 4 from 9 a.m. until noon. Park and meet at the Big Branch lot on Triadelphia Mill Road or the Pigtail lot at the extended end of Greenbridge Road. Children are welcome to accompany adults. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing, boots, hats and gloves. This is a rain or shine activity.

The Frederick County Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America (including Howard County residents) will meet April 4 at 10 a.m. in the Manor House of Edenton Retirement Community. Joe Duarte, president of Duartek Inc. will discuss loops and set up a temporary loop system for hearing aid and cochlear implant users with T-coil to try during the meeting. Joe will speak of his cochlear implant experience and how he uses supplemental technologies for 100 percent accessible communications on mobile phones including access to 911.

Dayton Oaks Elementary sends thanks to students and volunteers who participated in the Jump Rope for Heart Jump-a-thon, which raised well over $16,000 for the American Heart Association. This activity helps raise awareness about heart-healthy living. Physical activity helps.
