The National CyberWatch Center is sponsoring the High School Cybersecurity Fair and Expo at the Applied Physics Lab on March 28, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The K-12 Cybersecurity Fair and Expo is free and open to the public. Students will learn more about cybersecurity careers.
The next country breakfast sponsored by the Fifth District Volunteer Fire Department is set for March 29, 8 a.m. to noon. Come to the Ten Oaks Ballroom for pancakes, sausage, bacon, scrapple, eggs, applesauce, breakfast beverages and lots more. The volunteers appreciate your support and look forward to serving you.
The Atholton Athletic Boosters sent a reminder about the Raider Luau. The annual bull roast fundraiser is set for April 17, 6:30-11 p.m., at the Ten Oaks Ballroom. The evening includes appetizers, dinner, drinks, casino, music and a silent auction. Proceeds benefit AHS athletic teams.
Now is the time to buy your bull roast tickets. There is a 10 percent discount until March 31 ($54). After that, tickets will be $60.

Maggie Song was selected as a runner-up in the 2015 Middle School Women's History Month Essay Contest sponsored by the Howard County Commission for Women. Maggie was honored at the recent Women's Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
On the CMS music scene, Megan Radcliffe was selected for the Maryland All-State Band, and Megan Lui and Cindy Tian were selected for the Honor Band. Sebastian Silberman, Daniel Osheroff, Grace Park, Nathan Park and Bryan Dong were selected for the GT Band. Congratulations.
CMS Engineering participants traveled to the Baltimore Museum of Industry to enter cargo planes they had designed, tested and re-engineered in a state-wide competition to see which could hold the greatest percentage of the planes own weight. Dylan Kirby, Arjun Kanjarpane and Shyam Pillai placed second overall. Alexandre Docouto, Jay Mehta, Jessica Jung and Zoerin Stephens Bailey placed third. Good show.
The CMS Techweb Robotics Team of Ananth Joysula, Saketh Karri, Shyam Palli, Bill Tong and Catherine Shen moved to the Maryland First Lego League Championship and took first place. The team will compete in the International Lego Festival Championships in St. Louis.
Way to go, team. Good luck in St. Louis.
