Around 3:55 p.m., police said, the woman was driving a 2009 Hyundai Sonata through the upper level of a parking structure at 5400 Vantage Point Road when it ran into a retaining wall. The car then fell off the upper level and into the lower parking lot.

The driver was taken to Howard County General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said. Although police determined that the car accelerated before hitting the retaining wall, the crash is being investigated by Pfc. Brian Tanhauser.
