A 25-year-old Elkridge man was arrested by Howard County police in connection to a May 15 robbery spree in Columbia and Elkridge.
Steven Anthony Baldelli was charged with five counts of second-degree assault; three counts each of robbery and theft; and one count each of armed robbery, resisting arrest and second-degree escape.
Around 4:39 p.m. May 15, police were called to the Bob Evans restaurant in the 8300 block of Benson Drive for a report that an employee had assaulted a manager and stolen cash out of the office.
Later that day, at approximately 10:21 p.m., police went to the 6500 block of Old Waterloo Road after an armed robbery of a delivery driver was reported. The person, later identified as Baldelli, walked up to the victim, threatened him with a screwdriver and demanded money, police said. The two struggled and Baldelli left with cash, according to police.
Shortly after that, at around 10:25 p.m., police said, Baldelli went to Waterloo Pizza in the 6500 block of Old Waterloo Road, where he placed an order. An employee reported that when he opened the register, Baldelli knocked him to the ground and stole cash.
Baldelli was found the next morning in a vehicle near his home and was arrested after attempting to assault an officer while trying to run away, police said. No injuries were reported in any of the incidents, according to police.
Baldelli is being held at the county jail with no bond.
