The Howard County Council will hold a public hearing on County Executive Allan Kittleman's $1 billion operating budget proposal for fiscal year 2016 Wednesday night.
Kittleman presented his budget proposal April 20. The operating budget funds the county's day-to-day operations, including programs, salaries and pensions.
The hearing starts at 7:30 p.m. and will be held at the George Howard county government headquarters in Ellicott City.
The council is inviting testimony on all aspects of the operating budget except for funding for the public school system, community college and library system. A separate hearing on both the capital and operating budgets for those entities will be held on May 12.
