Motorcyclist in weekend crash in Ellicott City dies

A 20-year-old motorcyclist involved in a crash in Ellicott City over the weekend has died, Howard County police said Monday.

The driver, identified as Patrick James Moynihan, of Grovemont Drive in Elkridge, was speeding and had crossed over the double-yellow line in the roadway before the crash, police said.

Police said Moynihan was pronounced dead at 4:42 p.m. Sunday at the University of Maryland of Shock Trauma Center, where he was taken in critical condition.

The accident occurred on Triadelphia Road and Walt Ann Drive at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Moynihan's motorcycle collided with a 2014 Ford Escape driven by Allison Jeanette Walsh, 42, of Fox Meadow Lane in West Friendship.

Walsh was not injured, and police have not yet charged her in the incident.
