When asked how the police address these types of crimes, Llewellyn said the department has “a robust community-policing program integrated throughout the agency.”
The department also has a Youth Section and Youth Liaison officer that coordinators program such as P.L.E.D.G.E, which stands for pride, leadership, education, diversity, gang resistance and evaluation. The officer also coordinates the Youth Advisory Council, the Community Athletic Program, the Summer Leadership Camp and more.
