Several races aimed at young people will be held this weekend in the area. On Saturday, Oct. 25, there is the Young Life 5k around Lake Elkhorn in Columbia, the Trinity Trick or Trot 5k, and the NLIA Haunted Hills 5k at Overlook Park in Linthicum Heights. The 4th annual Centennial Boosters 5K Fun Run/Walk and 1K Kids Costume Run will be held on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 9 a.m. at Centennial High School. Long-sleeved T-shirts for all pre-registered 5K participants. Register at CentennialBoostersOnline.com. Early-bird registration ($25) ends Oct. 30.

The Marriotts Ridge High School Boosters 10th Annual Mustang 5K Stampede & 1-Mile Pony Trot will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 9 a.m., rain or shine. Obstacle course

Terrapin Adventures in Savage will host a zombie apocalypse preparation course on Oct. 25 at 1 and 5 p.m., featuring climbing walls, ropes course, zip line and giant swing.
