Girls basketball
Six Howard County players — Bernice Hanlon, Jessica Foster, and Grace Butera (Glenelg); Fran Vanegas and Sofia Harrison (Atholton); and Kelly Simmons (Centennial) — helped lead the Maryland Attitude to the AAU 15U championship at the Deep South Classic in Raleigh, N.C. on April 26. The team is currently the eighth-ranked Division I AAU 15U team in the country.
Running
Fifty-three runners enjoyed a beautiful spring afternoon while running the Howard County Striders weekly race at Thunder Hill Elementary on April 26. John Way and Darcy Ostrander were the 2-mile winners, while Evan Calvert and Tammy Liu Hermstein led the 10k runners.

The CVC Owls 12U team finished second at the CHRVA 12s regional tournament at the Maryland Juniors Sports Center in Jessup on April 18.
