Mt. Hebron volleyball takes down Atholton, 3-1

Mt. Hebron volleyball handled an inexperienced Atholton team on Wednesday night, 25-12, 25-18, 23-25, 25-9.

"I think we might have found our starting lineup today," said Mt. Hebron coach Michael Moynihan. "Meg Ross set a tremendous game. She got the game ball today."

Ravyn Richardson and Marissa Duncan led the Vikings offense.

"Our team is coming together really well and we play well together," said Richardson, who had five kills in the third set.

Duncan led the Vikings in the fourth set, tallying two kills, and three aces during an eight-point service run.

Atholton graduated eight seniors last spring.

"I wish we could say we're reloading but we're rebuilding," said first year coach Rob Moy. "We have two freshman and one sophomore starting. We're young but we're still learning."

Senior captain Jennifer Mandl was a consistent force for the Raiders at the net and from the service line in the loss.

Freshman hitter Samantha Miller, sophomore middle Julia Skibniewska and junior setter Olivia Na were also key contributors to the Raiders' cause.
