Mt. Hebron and Long Reach still unbeaten in county field hockey play

In a contest between neighbors, Mt. Hebron defeated Marriotts Ridge, 1-0, Monday afternoon to remain undefeated. The loss was the first of the season for the Mustangs.

As might be expected, the game went back and forth and was scoreless at halftime.

Tianna Wallpher scored the winning goal with about 10 minutes left in the game. Natalie Fyock provided the assist.

"We definitely had our opportunities and we couldn't finish," said Marriotts Ridge coach Stacie Gado. "Once again our defense is holding us up."

Mt. Hebron faces Long Reach, another undefeated team, Sept. 17 at Long Reach.
