Capitalizing on its explosive offense, Marriotts Ridge kept its undefeated record in tact Thursday evening.
Squaring off against Wilde Lake, the Mustangs scored four times in a five-minute stretch midway through the first half to set the stage for a 5-1 victory. Amir Najib (three goals and an assist) and Jeff Kammerer (two goals, two assists) combined to do basically all of the damage offensively.
Najib got the first goal in the 23rd minute, heading home a cross from Kammerer. Two minutes later, Najib finished another Kammerer cross, and then just a minute later it was Kammerer's turn to finish a through ball from Patrick Schubert.
The four-goal run culminated with Kammerer getting on the end of a flicked header by Najib to set up a breakaway score.
Wilde Lake did get on the board before halftime, with Zach Smythe scoring on a penalty kick in the final minute of the half.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, Najib wrapped up the scoring on a penalty kick that was set up by Sam Deitemeyer being fouled in the box.
