Howard County police are offering up to $500 for information on the identity of a driver involved in a hit-and-run May 3 in Savage.
Around 8 p.m., police said, a 47-year-old man reported that he was involved in a minor collision on Route 1 at Corridor Road. The man said a black sedan, possibly a Ford, hit his car on the shoulder of the ramp onto Route 32 from Route 1.
After the man got out of his car, police said he began walking toward the sedan to exchange information when the driver suddenly accelerated in reverse, appeared to intentionally hit him and then drove away. The man was taken to Howard County General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his head and leg.
Investigators later found a piece of black fender at the scene and believe that the sedan has extensive damage to its right-rear fender.
Police said anyone with information about the sedan can contact 911, with a location and license plate number, if possible. General information about the damaged black sedan is available by contacting police at 410-313-3700.
