As Howard County recovers from thunderstorms and a tornado that hit Tuesday, residents can drop off storm debris at two additional sites until Saturday.
The two locations are Burleigh Manor Middle School, 4200 Centennial Lane in Ellicott City; and the Howard County Living Farm Museum, 12985 Frederick Road in West Friendship.
Only wood waster material will be accepted at the two temporary locations. Brushes and branches must be less than four inches in diameter and less than four feet long. Bundles must weigh less than 40 pounds.
The county is also accepting debris at the Alpha Ridge Landfill, 2350 Marriottsville Road. Monday through Friday. Spoiled food, except meats, dairy and fish, will also be accepting for composting.
All three sites will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Although power returned for more than 22,000 people, roughly 196 people still remain without power, according to BGE.
"We are very fortunate that no one was injured when the storms moved across Howard County on Tuesday, but many homes have tree damage," wrote Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman in a county press release.
