More than 25 segments of road and bridge crossings have been closed in Howard County because of flooding in the region, following a day of heavy rain that could dump as much as 3 inches of rain on central Maryland by Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
And it's set to continue: The NWS has issued a flood warning lasting until 7 p.m. Wednesday for Howard County.
Flood warnings indicate that flooding has been reported or is imminent.
Among the roads and bridges closed due to flooding are the Main Street Ellicott City bridge leading into Baltimore County, South Entrance Road and Furnace Avenue.
Centennial Park has also been closed until further notice, according to the county.

Rainfall is expected to continue through Wednesday evening and into Thursday morning, with thunderstorms throughout the night, according to the service.
New rainfall amounts are expected to range between 1 to 2 inches, according to the service.
