A man who Howard County Police say was killed when he lost control of his vehicle Tuesday morning on Route 97 and crashed has been identified.
Zeyu Zhang, 26, of Timonium was driving south on 97 near the Howard/Montgomery County line in a 2004 Acura RSX when he took a curve and lost control, police said. His vehicle hit a patch of slush and veered into the northbound lane, hitting a Ford F-250 plow truck.
The accident closed Route 97 for three hours Tuesday morning, until just after noon.
Phillip Saiz, 17, of Glenwood, who was driving the pickup truck, and passengers Hayden Dice, 18, of Mt. Airy, and Casey Reimer, 17, of Glenwood, were taken to Montgomery County Hospital with minor injuries, police said.
Zhang was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, and police do not believe alcohol was involved. Excessive speed might have been a factor, police said.
