A woman accused of abusing an elderly man at an Ellicott City assisted living facility has been indicted by a grand jury in Howard County.
Christina Renee Randall, a caretaker at Lighthouse Senior Living on North Ridge Road, was arrested in February on charges of second-degree assault and abuse of a vulnerable adult after police were given video footage that showed her allegedly abusing a 93-year-old Alzheimer's patient in her care.
Randall, 26, of Baltimore, can allegedly be seen on tape pushing and striking the man after concerned family members set up a camera in his room, according to police. The man later developed bruises on his torso and arm, police said.
Randall was arrested without incident and released on $7,500 bail last month.
She faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine for the abuse charge and 10 years in prison and/or $2,500 for the second degree assault charge. Both abuses are misdemeanors, according to Howard County State's Attorney's spokesman T. Wayne Kirwan.
