Cab driver robbed, chased from car [Columbia crime log]

Morning Bird Lane, 5900 block, 2:07 a.m. April 20. Man riding in rear of Columbia cab struck driver, chased him from vehicle, attempted to steal cab. Victor Alexander Brown, 24, of Washington, D.C., charged with carjacking, robbery, second-degree assault, theft, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.

Rainbow Span, 6300 block, 3:20 a.m. April 17. Armed man approached victim as she parked car, displayed shiny, silver object and demanded belongings. Purse, phone, cash and prescription drugs stolen.

Whiteacre Road, 9600 block, 9:59 p.m. April 13. Three men approached victim. One struck victim, demanded money. Victim complied. ID card and cash stolen. Men fled.

Blandair Park, 5700 block, 4:55 p.m. April 12. Late reported incident. Four juveniles, known to victim, approached her. Two assaulted her and took iPod. Juvenile female, 12, charged with second-degree assault. Juvenile female, 14, charged with second-degree assault.

Stanford Boulevard, 8900 block, between 7 and 11 p.m. April 11. Entry gained to room at Marriott Courtyard by forcing open patio door. Electronics and sunglasses stolen.

West Columbia

Hickory Ridge Road, 10800 block, 11:45 p.m. April 15. Entry gained to Hickory Care Pharmacy by breaking front glass window. Cash and prescription drugs stolen.

Harpers Farm Road, 5400 block, 2:34 a.m. April 13. Four unknown men approached victim as he was leaving business. Victim kicked. Phone stolen. Men fled.

Green Mountain Circle, 10800 block, between 10 a.m. April 11 and 5 a.m. April 12. Entry gained to residence via unknown means. Television and jewelry stolen. No signs of forced entry.
