Baltimore’s loss is Ellicott City’s gain. Beef Brothers, formerly a Charles Street lunch fixture, has relocated to U.S. 40, bringing with it locally sourced and sometimes homemade American deli specialties, purple football-shaped pizza and a top-notch reputation.
In its Baltimore incarnation, the restaurant received various accolades, including a spot on WJZ’s list of best BLTs in April and No. 3 nod for “best hot dog” in City Paper’s 2011 Best of Baltimore.
The move to Ellicott City is an opportunity to fill a culinary gap, expand to evening and weekend hours and do more catering, says Brad Quint, who co-owns the business with his brother, Marc. Not to mention that Ellicott City is his home.
“We’re eaters,” Quint says. “If we won’t eat it and love it, then we won’t make it and sell it.”
