Regulars find a lot to love about Bare Bones Grill & Brewery in Ellicott City, where the beer is plentiful, ribs are saucy and, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Monday through Friday, happy hour roars. During those hours, drinks are discounted, and the buffet — including Bare Bones’ famous buffalo chicken wings — is free.
“Happy hour is great,” says General Manager Alison McClune. “It’s extensive — we put out six to eight items every day, and it’s all complimentary.” The spicy wings go like hotcakes, she says — the kitchen cranks out as many as 3,500 per week, just for happy hour alone.
Bare Bones is also popular for its ribs – they sell more than 1,000 racks per week. The ribs are slow-cooked, finished on the grill, and slathered with smoky house barbecue sauce. “They just fall right off the bone,” says McClune.
