Last year, Syrian immigrant brothers Khaldoun and Majd AlGhatrif opened the doors of Syriana to bring the crafts of their native land to Ellicott City. Now they’ve added a cafe to introduce its culinary delights.

Native Syrians prepare traditional family recipes for all-day breakfast, lunch and dinner. Spinach pie and the marinated chicken dish shawarma are customer favorites, says Rasha Obaid, Majd AlGhatrif’s wife, who manages cafe and gallery.

A new salad and a lamb entree are on the spring menu, while pistachio ice cream prepared with a hammer is just right for warm weather.
