The combination of jewelry and candy makes Southwest Connection & Silver Arrow Fudge a one-stop shop for Valentine’s Day.
The holiday usually results in a more than doubling of business for the Main Street mainstay, which opened in 1989.
“The last few days leading up to Valentine’s Day we see a nice little spike in business,” says Steve McDermott, who owns the shop with his wife, Lori.
The 20 fudge offerings range from traditional chocolate to the popular sea salt caramel. The fudge — sold by the half-pound or pound — comes in heart-pattern wrapping and can be personalized. There is also an assortment of chocolate covered strawberries and candied apples.
As for the jewelry, the store specializes in Native American pieces and sterling silver. But there are also gemstones and quartz crystal options. “We’re an overall gift shops,” McDermott says.
