Project Linus, Howard County chapter
Works to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans.
Operates an outpatient mental health clinic and offers community employment, residential rehabilitation and supported housing programs for people with mental illnesses, developmental disabilities and substance abuse addictions.
Raises awareness of climate change and declining resources; encourages use of local resources, ethical stewardship of the environment and lifelong learning by collaborating with community organizations and government.
Works collaboratively with patients, families, healthcare providers, federal and state agencies, and other community-based organizations to improve the lives of those affected by sickle-cell disease in Maryland.
Works to develop leaders and resources in public health education, worksite health promotion and wellness in order to strengthen policies, programs and environments to enable everyone to benefit from a happier and healthier life.
Strives to meet the needs of the local Jewish community and of Jews in Israel and worldwide. Works to promote Jewish identity, involve and build Jewish community in Howard County, and strengthen ties with the broader local community.
