Oakland Mills field hockey gets first Howard County win of season

Marriotts Ridge 1, Centennial 0 (OT)

It took an overtime goal by Keally Ingersoll for Marriotts Ridge to shake off Centennial.

"Allie (McAuley) dribbled down and drew the goalkeeper to our right (her left). Then she dumped the ball to Keally in between the stroke line and the top of the circle," said Marriotts Ridge coach Stacie Gado.

Atholton 5, River Hill 3

Rachel Day had two goals and two assists as Atholton defeated River Hill, 5-3. River Hill goalie Sierra Kelly made 12 saves.

Seton Keough 1, Glenelg Country 0 (OT)

In a hard-fought midfield dominated game, Seton Keough scored in reduced player overtime on a penalty corner to beat Glenelg Country in an IAAM B Conference game. Lemanski scored the game-winner.

Glenelg Country's overtime team consisted of seniors Mallory Pappas, Marissa Burks, Lauren Smith, Hannah Veater, sophomore Meagan Hooper and freshman Julia Sheehan. Senior Gillie Lynch played a strong game on defense for the Dragons.

Long Reach 2, Reservoir 1

Long Reach led, 1-0, at the half but Reservoir rallied to tie the score.

"My girls did not drop their heads when Reservoir tied the game. They came back and Alina Milauskas had the game off a corner play," said Long Reach coach Rashmi Bhanot.

Caroline LaGow, Milauskas, Patricia Anderson and Lillie Miller were key players the game for Long Reach.

"We've been shut out five times this season so we knew what we had to do in order to get the win," Bhanot added.

Stephanie Roth scored the Reservoir goal.

Glenelg won its ninth game in a row as Stephanie Asher scored three goals and Megan Taylor had four assists.  Nine of Glenelg's 11 goals were assisted.

Hammond goalie Greer Guzzone turned back 19 shots.
