The annual Howard County boys basketball all-star game, featuring seniors representing the area's public and private schools, is scheduled for Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Howard Community College.
The two teams are divided up by schools, with a total of 25 players being selected for one of the two rosters.
The first team features state champion Centennial, represented by Chad Strothers and Isaiah White. Other schools on the squad include: River Hill (Charlie Thomas and Gary Sandler), Mt. Hebron (Aaren Smith and Mark Smith), Long Reach (Dakwonte Avery and Ron Carter), Chapelgate (Matt Frierson, Malik Grandy and Seth Madden) and Wilde Lake (Dylan Delarosa and Steve Jordan). Chapelgate coach Frick Frierson will coach the group.
The second team is headlined by state champion Oakland Mills, represented by the duo of Mamadou Ndiaye and Will Robinson Jr. Other schools on the squad include: Reservoir (Seth Henry and Jon Mierzwa), Glenelg (Matt Hammert, Dom Napolitano and Nick Oates), Atholton (Chris Carter), Hammond (Malik Wilcher), Howard (CJ Savage and Jared Noble) Marriotts Ridge (Greg Speelman) and Glenelg Country (Darryl Williams). Glenelg Country coach Kevin Quinlan will coach the team.
In addition to the game itself, there are plans to also have a dunk contest and 3-point shooting competition.
