COLUMBIA, MD — In volleyball, everything starts with a good serve, and Hammond kept that in mind Tuesday night against visiting Oakland Mills, as the Golden Bears won, 3-1, on Dig Pink night.

"We just were putting stuff together throughout the season," said Hammond first year coach Anne Corey, whose team won 20-25, 25-20, 25-14, 25-10. "After the first game we really came together, we were talking and moving well ... it was looking really good, we've seen some tough servers, but tonight we were looking perfect."
