First baby of 2014 born at Howard Hospital

The daughter of a Glen Burnie couple was the first baby born in Howard County in 2014, according to a Howard County General Hospital spokeswoman.

Lydia Strube Ammann was born at 12:25 a.m. on Jan. 1 to parents Jason and Emily Ammann. Lydia, the couple's first child, weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

According to the hospital, Lydia is following in her father Jason's footsteps as he was the first baby born at Doctor's Hospital in Prince George's County in 1980.

Jason was born at 12:09 a.m. Jan. 1, 1980.
