Drivers can expect overnight lane closings along Route 40 in Howard County as a $2 million resurfacing project gets underway this week.
State Highway Administration officials said the project is expected to begin Tuesday and should be completed by the end of the summer.
Roadways along Baltimore National Pike between the Little Patuxent River bridge and St. John's Lane will be patched, grinded, resurfaced and restriped, representatives said, with one or two lanes closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
According to SHA, barrels, dynamic message signs and arrow boards will provide direction during the lane closings. SHA cautioned drivers to obey speed limits in the work zones and stay alert to narrow lanes and workers.
