More businesses sign lease agreements at The Metropolitan Downtown Columbia

The Metropolitan Downtown Columbia has begun moving in tenants. The project is the first new construction built under a massive revitalization plan for Columbia.

Several retail stores and restaurants are coming to The Metropolitan Downtown Columbia apartment community on Town Center Avenue in Columbia.

Developer Howard Hughes Corp. today announced multiple lease signings for the promenande adjacent to the residential area.

According to information from Howard Hughes, Corner Bakery Café and MOD Pizza restaurants are the latest tenants, in addition to hipster salon Floyd's 99 Barbershop, European Wax Center and Village Nails Bar.

Plans for Downtown Columbia include 5,500 residences and 640 hotel rooms; office, medical, retail and restaurant space; and more than 20 acres of park, civic and cultural space.

The Howard Hughes Corporation also recently completed renovations of the historic Rouse Building into a Whole Foods Market and a luxury spa and wellness center. A multi-stage renovation of Merriweather Post Pavilion is underway.
