Special treatment for corporate relocation? [Letter]

Regardless of whether the maglev train will be built here and actually change our travel habits we do not need to give Amazon handouts if [Baltimore] Mayor Pugh’s statements are accurate. (“High-speed maglev pitched as Amazon lure,” Oct. 19, Business)

If "we're shovel-ready" at Port Covington and close to transportation (Baltimore Harbor, BWI airport and Amtrak) hubs makes Baltimore's bid superior to any competitor is true the $660 million in tax incentives granted to the land's owner (Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank) are an unnecessary gift to Amazon.

They will move to the right place without incentives. Let them pay their fair share without special treatment.
