Look closely at sources of political endorsements [Letter]

Just what/who do endorsements represent?

I've learned to ignore those allegedly from teachers, police and fireman. These are the endorsements of their unions, not necessarily the rank and file.

I'm not finding "single issue" voter group endorsements (LGBT, NRA, NOW, NARAL) helpful. For example, I can't figure out how Courtney Watson got the Sierra Club endorsement. Ms. Watson approved numerous high density residential developments close to waterways and parks.

Rather than the Apple Ballot picks of the Teachers' Union, I prefer http://www.Parentschoiceofmaryland.com because they actually define the criteria they use to make their selections! The same is true for Citizens Working to Fix Howard County ( http://www.fixhoco.com ). A local group of citizens from Savage even created their own slate of endorsements, proving people are paying attention and ready for change!
