On Monday, Sept. 2, the following schedule will be in effect in Howard County:
Animal shelter: closed
Banks: closed
County buses: Howard Transit's Brown, Green, Orange, Red and Silver routes and Central Maryland Regional Transit Routes J and K will operate on a Sunday schedule; Howard Transit's Gold, Purple and Yellow routes and Central Maryland Regional Transit Routes A, B, C, E, G, H and M will not operate. Courts: closed
Federal/state/county offices: closed
Landfill: closed
Libraries: closed
MARC: No service
Parks/Community Centers: The Cedar Lane Activity Room, Gary J. Arthur Community Center, county historic sites, Kiwanis-Wallas Community Center, Meadowbrook Athletic Center, North Laurel Community Center, Robinson Nature Center and the Schooley Mill Activity Room will be closed; the Roger Carter Community Center and county parks will be open.
Parking: All parking regulations and fees will be in effect
Post offices: closed
Trash and recycling: There will be no trash, recycling or yard waste pick-up, and the county's holiday "slide" schedule will be in effect. That means for the week beginning Sept. 2., your pick-up date will slide to the next day.
