Howard County government offices, courts and additional centers and services will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 5.
The following list of closures was provided by the county: animal shelter, senior centers, landfill, the Cedar Lane Activity Room, Gary J. Arthur and North Laurel community centers, county historic sites, Kiwanis-Wallas Hall, Meadowbrook Athletic Center, Robinson Nature Center and the Schooley Mill Activity Room.
The Ellicott City Disaster Resource Office will also be closed.
County parks and the Roger Carter Community Center will remain open on Labor Day, as well as the 911 Center, police and fire departments. For emergencies, contact 911, and for non-emergencies, contact 410-313-2200.
Trash, recycling and yard trim or food scrap collection will follow the county's "slide" schedule, while the Regional Transportation Agency will operate on a "Sunday" schedule. All parking regulations and fees will remain in effect, county officials said, with county offices re-opening at regular business hours on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
