Talkin Baseball sets meeting date for July

The regular meeting of "Talkin' Baseball" will take place on July 13 at 9 a.m. at Brighton Gardens. The speaker will be Jim Sargent, who will discuss his book, "Yesterday's Tiger Heroes." Contact 410-740-1145 for more information.

Sports Camps and Clinics

The Reservoir Boosters Summer Sports and Enrichment Camps are open for registration. The sports camps are designed to provide beginner to advanced athletes with the chance to train under the guidance of high school coaches to provide a higher level of training. This includes camps for football, field hockey, soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, softball, boys basketball, multiple baseball camps and "Stay Active." Camps are for pre-high school students of various ages (ranging from second to eighth grade) and are open to all, even if you will be attending a different high school. The Chenier-Wingfield Basketball Camp will be held at Wilde Lake High School for two weeks this summer, July 27-31 and August 3-7, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 8 and up. The 2015 Lady Vikings Basketball Camp, hosted by Mt. Hebron varsity coach Tony Bell, will be held at Mt. Hebron High School June 29-July 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each day. The camp is for girls ages 11-14. For more information, contact Anthony_bell@hcpss.org.

The Oakland Mills High School Baseball camps will be held at Oakland Mills High School in two different sessions. The first is June 29-July 2 and the second is July 27-30. Camps are from 9 a.m. to noon each day, and the cost for each camp is $100. Contact matthew_sillers@hcpss.org to reserve a spot.

The Howard Boys' Lacrosse 'Lions' Pride' annual summer camp will be held July 13-16 at Howard High School. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon. The Chapelgate Christian Academy 2015 Boys Basketball Camps will be held in July. The middle school camp for rising sixth-eighth graders is July 6-10 and the high school camp for rising ninth-12th graders is July 20-24. Camps run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the cost is $100. The Soccer Association of Columbia is now registering players for SAC Training Academy Summer Camps scheduled throughout the summer for players of all abilities, ages 5-14. Both full and half days sessions are offered. SAC also offers extended care from 4-6 p.m. for an additional fee.

SAC is now registering players for the Fall 2015/Spring 2016 season for the Clinic, Recreation and High School programs. The leagues are open to players from ages 4-19. Teams meet for eight weeks each season for practices and weekend games. Register by July 15 for an early registration discount.

SAC is now registering players for Summer Technical Training and a Recreation Summer League (U8-U12). These programs are designed to provide additional opportunities to SAC's players over the summer.

The SAC Juniors Program is a fun-filled introduction to soccer. SAC offers six, one-hour weekday or weekend sessions for ages 3-4 throughout the year in Howard County.
