The Maryland United North FC girls U10 team won the championship of the Silver Division of the 2015 SAC Columbia Invitational Memorial Day Tournament. The team went undefeated with a record of 4-0, while outscoring its opponents 14-3. Team members are: Evelyn Dzubak, Bella Tan, Zoee Stencil, Amari Mehta, Jane Williams, Claire McGarvey, Chloe McGarvey, Megan Maloney, Amy Ingram and Sabba Haghgoo. Rob Garrick is the head coach.
The Ellicott City Soccer Club girls U10 Yellow team finished as runner-ups in the Copper Division of the SAC Columbia Invitational Memorial Day Tournament. The girls won three straight games to meet up with the Thunder Spirit in the finals at Covenant Park. Team members are Kate Hennigan, Alexa Mohink, Morgan Steinberg, Grace Nuetzel, Gracie Fortune, Joanna Ritter, Anna Mason, Sofia Plastino, Audrey Loudin and Charlotte Pilcher. Tony DeGeorge is the team's coach.
The Soccer Association of Columbia (SAC) U9 Premier Blue boys team won their age division of the SAC Invitational over Memorial Day Weekend. Sergio Flores and Jose Leary are the squad's coaches. Team members are Clark Anglin, Michael Brogno, Alejandro Delacruz, Dale Gordon, Malcolm Grant, Graham Leary, William Marsden, Seth Rosenfeld, Lukas Zakalskis and Kevin Zhang.
The WHC 9U Renegade Travel Baseball team has been on a hot streak of late, competing in and winning a pair of tournaments during the month of May. The team first won the Ripken Mother's Day Tournament in Aberdeen at the Ripken Experience over the weekend of May 8-11 and then followed that up with a championship at the Elkridge Hurricanes' Stars and Strikes Memorial Day Tournament on May 24.
The Renegades went 5-0 to take the championship at the Ripken Tournament, earning a come-from-behind win in the bottom of the sixth inning against the Brandywine Indians to clinch the title. Catcher DJ Stolba garnered MVP honors for the championship game with a single that scored Andrew Handelman. Ultimately, Ty Whittaker scored the winning run in a 7-6 victory.
At the Stars and Strikes Tournament, the team went 5-0 and secured a 16-11 victory over Catoctin Baseball Club in the final. The team posted 17 total hits in the championship, including multi-base hits from Tyler Holton, Ben Pearcy, Handelman and Aidan Sullivan. Logan Pusheck and Sullivan went 3-for-3 at the plate. Whittaker, Landon Castor and Holton provided the pitching.
Other team members are Ryan Durborow, Ryan Haney, Peter Boarman and Landon Baker. The coaching staff includes head coach Rob Pusheck, along with Darrin Stolba, Eric Whittaker, Rick Castor, Patrick Haney, Tom Holton and Matt Baker.
